Junior Java Developer

West Coast Informatics is hiring a Junior Java Software Developer with at least 3 years of Java experience. The candidate will support full-stack development (though mainly back-end) of a suite of RESTful applications. Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or something similar.

Applicant must have strong communication and interpersonal skills

The position requires expertise in:

  • Java

  • Search technologies such as Lucene, Elasticsearch or other similar technologies

  • Web technologies such as Javascript, TypeScript, REST, HTML5, Angular

  • Database technologies such as MySQL/Postgres

Extra consideration for those with experience in any of the following:

  • Spring Boot applications

  • Python

  • Curl/Bash

  • Gradle/Maven

  • Docker/Kubernetes

Java Developer

West Coast Informatics is hiring a Java Software Developer with at least 5 years of Java experience. The candidate will support full-stack development (though mainly back-end) of a suite of RESTful applications. Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or something similar.

  • Work independently to write Java SpringBoot microservices RESTful applications

  • Leverage Elasticsearch, Postgres, Docker, and AWS cloud infrastructure

  • Develop features to interact with structured healthcare terminologies and knowledge bases

  • Help train machine learning models for Natural Language Processing (NLP), healthcare terminology word embeddings,  and classification models

  • Solve interesting problems involving healthcare data and data models  Must be authorized to work in the US (Permanent Resident or US Citizen)

  • Use your communication and interpersonal skills to update internal and customer facing teams

The position requires expertise in:

  • Java

  • Spring Boot applications

  • Search technologies such as Lucene, Elasticsearch or other similar technologies

  • Front-end technologies such as Javascript, TypeScript, REST, HTML5, Angular

  • Database technologies such as MySQL/Postgres

  • Experience developing REST APIs in a microservices environment

Extra consideration for those with experience in any of the following:

  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS) and development

  • Python

  • Curl/Bash, Linux CLI
